Every Singapore miles credit card, compared

Why Dining is the default pick on the UOB Lady's Card
The Lady's Card makes you choose exactly one of seven categories, and the choice is locked until you change it. Dining is the default here for three reasons that compound.
The round-down rule quietly favours dining
Most cards round every transaction down to the nearest S$5 block before awarding miles — a S$4.90 kopi earns nothing, and a S$12.80 lunch only earns on S$10. The Lady's Card is different: bonus transactions are summed across the month first, then rounded down once. Dining is the category with the most small, awkwardly-sized transactions, so it's exactly where that single round-down saves the most.
Dining stacks with more third-party layers than any other category
Food is the one category where a second and third rewards layer sits on top of the card itself. The card earns its 4–10 mpd, and the platform earns again on the same dollar.
- Kris+ — SIA's app; partner F&B pays 0.33–9 mpd in KrisPay miles (dining averages 3.3) on top of the card, transferring to KrisFlyer 1:1 if you move them within 21 days
- GrabFood — GrabRewards points layered over the card's dining bonus
- ShopBack — cashback on dining vouchers and delivery orders
- FavePay — merchant vouchers bought at a discount, then paid for with the card
Dining fills the S$1,000 cap without effort
A bonus category is only worth choosing if you can actually fill its S$1,000 monthly cap — an unfilled cap is wasted rate. Dining is high-frequency and recurring, so it fills steadily. Travel and Fashion are lumpy: big in some months, empty in others, which leaves the cap idle and the rate unused.

★Your card strategy
Nobody puts everything on one card. This finds the best combination, routing each category to the card that pays most, then spilling into the next card once a cap fills.
When two cards pay the same rate, spend goes to UOB Lady's first, then UOB Preferred Visa, then DBS Woman's or Citi Rewards. A card that genuinely pays more always wins regardless.

Buy miles by paying bills that don't normally earn any
Platforms like CardUp and ipaymy let you charge rent, insurance, utilities, tuition, condo fees, mortgages and loan instalments to a credit card — for an admin fee. For insurance and utilities this is now the only way to earn anything at all. Rates differ by payment type, not just category: a recurring instruction is almost always cheaper than a single one-off payment. Each row below shows the exact rate, promo code and resulting cost-per-mile.

How your spending actually gets classified
Bonus rates are almost never about where you shop — they turn on the 4-digit Merchant Category Code the terminal reports. Search any merchant to see its code, which category it lands in, and the cards that pay best there under your current plan.
